Our solution couples a creative user-interface with decision-support
tools to deflate medical bills. In partnership with providers, we are
developing a delivery mechanism that is compatible with physician
workflow and healthcare delivery business models. In the near future,
Costs of Care will pilot this system in a Boston emergency medicine
department and measure our impact on medical decision-making.
By
measuring our impact on medical decision-making we will generate new
knowledge on how cost-awareness and cost-sensitivity may be leveraged
to prevent personal bankruptcies caused by medical bills, and to curb
cost-growth in the healthcare sector.
