Emergency Room Decision Support |
|
Our primary service gives healthcare providers information on the
prices emergency room patients face at the critical moment when medical
decisions are made. We
target, serve, and contract with three different parties in our value
chain. Although the services we provide are targeted at physicians, our primary beneficiaries are patients. We contract for these services with emergency rooms.
Patients will benefit. Patients in
the emergency room are most likely to be underinsured and face the
highest out-of-pocket costs. They are also most likely to receive
superfluous tests and treatment.
Providers will benefit.
Due to the demanding workflow of the emergency room, added
decision-support has been demonstrated to increase throughput.
Moreover, emergency physicians are usually salaried and therefore have
no direct financial incentive to order unnecessary tests. Emergency Departments will benefit.
Emergency rooms normally operate in deficit because a large portion of
underinsured patients default on payment. Deflating medical bills will
increase collection rates. This service will be available in the near future.
